White Berry Stopper is an enchanting evergreen bush or diminutive tree, native to Florida, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. It reaches a beautiful height of 25 feet with a lovely rounded crown, luxuriant, dark green leaves, stunning flowers, and delectable fruit!

White Berry Stopper is a member of the Myrtle family, Myrtaceae.  The fragrant white flowers that cover the tree in the spring and summer contrast with the dark green leaves and red twigs, making the tree a beautiful ornamental. New, young leaves emerge as red and turn green as they mature. In the fall, purplish-black, half-inch fruit hang on the trees, adding to its year-round interest.

White Berry Stopper is an excellent shade tree, privacy screen, or hedge and is a good cover for wildlife. The edible fruits are a tasty treat for birds and people, and the reddish-brown heartwood is used locally for cabinetry.  This tree grows in full sun to light shade in organic, well-draining soils. It is moderately drought-resistant once established and is hardy in USDA zones 9 to 11

The overall look and size of your Simpson's Stopper plant will depend on the amount of sun it's exposed to. When planted in full sun, Simpson's Stopper forms a densely growing plant that makes a great hedge. In partial shade, the foliage is slightly less dense and affords a better view of the exfoliating bark and super cool branching.

Prefers well-draining soil but can also handle slight periods of standing water AND is highly drought tolerant. This here is one hardy shrub!
